Are all these F/S applicable with the Nomad 3 ?

At 4:44 rails laid down. But they’re not symmetrical. On one end, there is a little clip that looks like it holds a wire. I’ve watched a few videos. No one seems to point out whether these go on the right or the left oriented towards someone looking at the table from the front.

About how long did it take for the nomad to cut that?

If a tool is rotating inside a material, but stationery, it is not going to heat up, bcos, there is no material to rub against. Same way, I dont think a slow moving tool rubs against the material and can cuase rubbing and heating and melting etc. But several videos say that this will happen, if the feedrate is too slow. If slow moving tool can rub and heat, then by the same logic, a stationery tool (but rotating) inside the material shud rub and heat up a lot more. Does this happen ? Can someone explain this ?

Great vid, lot of good info. Pricing though - Maybe in HAWAII you'd get 1500 for that lmao. In the southeast? lol be lucky to get 300 for. Have to think of a person without a cnc, they're going to use a scroll saw or a band saw , make it out of pine, stain it walnut. From 15ft away their piece starts looking a lot like yours - except without all the imaginary input costs etc. Most people don't know what walnut is, they see a piece of brown wood lol. The portion of the market that would spend 1500 in this economy is a very tiny sliver, that most people just don't have access to.

Pricing thoughts: Write down how you calculated your pricing (for EVERY customer/job). Why? Because if you get multiple jobs from a customer they might call you out on a price they think is higher. Yes, you might want to dump that customer for being a nit picker. [source: I occasionally used to do estimation work when the boss was on holiday and we had a customer who'd always argue if the price was 'too high' - and who'd remember the ones quoted 'too low' and hold them up as the benchmark to try to save money]

Agreed, I get a great deal of inspiration from Kevin's pep talks and on-line demos. Please keep up the pace! It may also be beneficial to slow down a little for the basics so that the new guys gain a more complete understanding off each piece of the puzzle. The more experienced folks are already hooked.....don't worry so much about them......everyone must start at the beginning! Please do a slow and detailed video on maintenance of the Shapeoko 5Pro! Please publish a list on-line of the short cuts to be used in Carbide Create.....i.e. "Command CV" to make copies. Many thanks for a wonderful opportunity. I completely agree with Kevin...... give some stuff away.....even if it's only MDF.......people will see your capabilities and want more.

How much time I have spent fixing wood like this, until I glue melamin board on all surface of cnc, and now I screw up everything. Much faster.

I really thought Sweepy was the answer to my dust boot problem. I bought one for a 80mm spindle on a 6040 router. The problem is it is so tall that I had to trim part of the mount and its still to tall for deep reliefs where I needed good dust collection. Oh well back to the drawing board, it's a nice product, and I hope it is the answer to others dust problem...

Hey Winston, amazing stuff. I would love to be able to follow your fusion tutorial to make a design for a wooden deck but you are too advanced with fusion to follow your steps at that speed. Could you make a tutorial for the same shape but using timber as the material for dummies?

Don't know if this is still monitored.....main reason (for now) that i'm getting a CNC is to do Blue LIne / Red LIne flags for fellow first responders. I've downloaded Carbide Create (free version to start learning it). Have saved the files for the stars 'examples' file. Does it have instructions as to how to run it (for a NEWBE) and can free version generate the GCODE (think i'm asking that right). Would love to 'carve this out as a first carve (although assume it's NOT one to start with, must be complex. Just planning ahead and working on the workbench my cnc will be mounted on.

After the work piece is square, is it possible to manually provide an X,Y,Z center for the mill? What I mean is, if I remove the work piece and come back tomorrow, get it just as square, can I use the VFD or software to give it the exact X,Y,Z from yesterday? Or will I have to use the controller to get it as close as I can?
